Homemade Bike Racks - How To Make Your Own Bike Rack
December 6th, 2007 | by bike racked |I have plans that I have written down on how to build a bike rack. The bike rack is a very simple pulley system that is used in conjunction with a rope. You hook the bike onto the rope with other pieces of rope and the 150lb carabina, then simply pull the bike off of the ground. This is perfect for the a home patio or garage. Take a look at my plans below and let me know what you think. They are a bit crude but believe me this homemade bike rack really works!!!
I’m going to redraw these plans so that you can actually see the diagram. I also have pictures of mine which I had bikes hoisted up on my balcony for a long time. I am going to make one of these for my parents to use in their garage since they also have a lot of bikes. These hoists really get my bikes out of the way.
